AV Presales Consultant with a strong technical background in AV / Audio Visual systems and pre-sales engineering, and a German speaker, is required who will play a pivotal role in driving growth across the European Defence sector for a global high-performance visualisation and collaboration technology provider entering the German Market.
Based remotely in Germany, with international travel required, this is a high-impact role central to the organisation’s European go-to-market strategy.
Key skills required for the AV Presales Consultant
- Strong experience within AV / Audio Visual, IT or control room environments
- Experience in technical sales or presales within complex AV solution environments
- Strong understanding of AV systems (analogue and digital), including video/data sources, projection principles, signal distribution, DSP and Dante-based audio systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft, Cisco and Poly videoconferencing technologies
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, AD, O365, Teams and Visio
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, engineering drawings, commissioning reports and schedules
- Experience supporting sales engagements within the Defence sector, MoDs or defence primes would be an advantage
- Proven ability to manage classified materials in line with strict security protocols
- Strong commercial awareness with analytical and strategic thinking capability
- Excellent English language skills and fluency in German
- Relevant higher education qualification
- Must be able to obtain clearance Ü2 or higher for German candidates, and be willing to undergo full screening
What you’ll do as an AV Presales Consultant
- Participate in customer meetings, presenting technical solutions and addressing complex technical queries
- Conduct technical site surveys to form the foundation for detailed solution designs
- Support solution design, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) and high-level schematics
- Assist in preparing tenders, proposals and quotations in collaboration with Account Managers
- Translate customer operational requirements into clear, strategic technical roadmaps
- Present conceptual solutions that demonstrate measurable operational improvement
- Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations tailored to defence clients
- Provide training and produce technical support material for sales colleagues
- Support marketing activities, including trade shows, conferences and industry events
- Develop long-term client relationships through consultative engagement
- Translate classified data into secure, unclassified shareable content without compromising operational value
