Business Solutions Analyst – Legal

  • $90000 - $110000 per annum, Benefits: Bonus + Bens
  • United States, Remote work, US

We are looking for a Business Solutions Analyst – Legal to join a specialist technology business delivering software and business systems solutions to government, public sector, federal, legal and professional services clients.

This is a client-facing Business Analysis role covering the full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) implementation lifecycle, with a focus on legal software and business systems. You will be involved from requirements gathering through to configuration, delivery and support.

The Business Solutions Analyst role is remote and based in the United States. Candidates must be legally authorised to work in the US.

The role would suit an experienced Business Analyst with strong software delivery experience and, ideally, knowledge of legal systems such as case management, matter management, document management, workflow automation or collaboration platforms.
The Role

You will work closely with external clients, internal delivery teams and subject matter experts to understand business needs, define requirements and support the delivery of effective technology solutions.
You will be responsible for eliciting, documenting, managing and tracing requirements, while also supporting system configuration, testing, implementation and post-delivery support.

This is a varied role in a small, collaborative team, requiring someone who can manage multiple projects, switch between priorities and work effectively in a professional services environment with time-tracking and billable-hour expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work across the full SDLC and COTS implementation lifecycle.
  • Elicit, analyse, document, manage and trace business and system requirements.
  • Engage directly with clients to understand their processes, terminology and objectives.
  • Translate client needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, workflows and supporting documentation.
  • Support system configuration, setup, testing and delivery.
  • Work with internal teams, consultants, developers and subject matter experts.
  • Adapt to different project methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid and JAD.
  • Manage multiple projects and support requests at the same time.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, project records and time entries.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients across government, public agencies, law firms and professional services environments.
  • Challenge constructively where requirements, timelines or assumptions need clarification.

About You

You will be analytical, organised and detail-focused, with excellent communication skills and the confidence to work directly with senior client stakeholders.

You should be comfortable working remotely, able to manage competing priorities and trusted to handle sensitive client information with professionalism and integrity.

Skills required for the Business Analyst would include

  • Circa 7 years of strong Business Analysis experience.
  • Proven experience across software delivery, systems implementation or technology projects.
  • Strong understanding of requirements gathering, documentation, management and traceability.
  • Experience with SDLC and/or COTS implementations.
  • Comfortable working across Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid or JAD-style methodologies.
  • Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage several projects, workstreams or support requests simultaneously.
  • Comfortable with time tracking, billable-hour targets and professional services delivery standards.
  • Must be US-based and legally authorised to work in the United States.

Legal Systems & Technology Experience

Legal sector experience is highly desirable, particularly exposure to any of case management, matter management, document management, workflow or collaboration platforms.
Experience with platforms such as ProLaw, Sharedo / Clio Operate, Filevine, Litify, NetDocuments, iManage, M-Files, HighQ or similar would be a strong advantage so you understand how legal teams use systems to manage matters, documents, workflows, client information and compliance-driven processes.

Desirable Experience

  • Background in legal technology, law firms, corporate legal teams, government legal departments or public sector legal environments.
  • Experience working for a software company, consultancy, systems integrator or technology services provider.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce, Smartsheet, Azure DevOps, ClickUp and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience supporting system configuration, workflow design, user adoption or post-implementation support.
  • Relevant Business Analysis certifications such as IIBA, CBAP or PMI-PBA would be useful but are not essential.

The Company

The company is a boutique legal technology consultancy that has been established for over 25 years and has built a strong reputation for delivering trusted technology solutions to high-profile clients across government, legal and professional services markets.
Despite its long-standing reputation, the business has retained a small, specialist and collaborative team culture. The environment is flexible, employee-friendly and supportive, with strong opportunities for professional growth.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to join a respected specialist business at an important stage of growth, with several large contracts ahead.
You will work on meaningful, complex client projects while gaining broad exposure across discovery, requirements, configuration, delivery, support and client relationships.

This role would suit someone who wants more than a narrow BA position and is looking to grow into a more senior solutions, consulting or delivery-focused role over time.
