Technical trainer required with experience in technical training for complex SaaS or COTS software is required by a world-leading London-based scientific software company whose highly technical SaaS product is used by the majority of the top 20 pharmaceutical and life sciences companies in scientific labs to aid rapid drug discovery for new drugs and vaccines. 

The role will be hybrid based in the London Bridge Office circa two days per week and will occasionally involve travelling to train customers.

This is a new role within the company, so it will offer the scope to participate in developing the future training strategy and delivery within a fast-growing company.

Key requirements for the Technical Trainer – SaaS  would include
 
  • Technical training experience, including creating courses and conducting classroom training for complex technical SaaS or COTS software products
  • Be degree-level educated in a scientific or numerate discipline
  • Knowledge of database systems and writing SQL or programming, such as PL/SQL or T-SQL (ideally Oracle / PL/SQL or SQL Server, SQLite, PostgreSQL  or a programming language such as C, C#, Python, Java etc
  • Experience in training technical client audiences would such as developers or implementation consultants would be desirable
  • Have experience using LMS packages/e-learning / Learning Management Systems
  • Have experience creating and managing online training materials and courses
  • Any experience with scientific systems in the areas such as LIMS, Lab Automation, Sample Management, Compound Management or Lab automation would be desirable / an advantage
  • Have a methodical work approach, strong prioritization skills and an excellent work ethic
  • Have excellent internal and external verbal and written communication skills, and oral presentation skills
  • Be a self-starter
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office
  • Be willing to travel for work
  • Be the holder of a passport to enable international travel

The technical trainer role responsibilities will include
 
  • Helping shape the ongoing strategy and mission of the training program.
  • Develop and maintain technical training content, exercises, presentations, and accompanying materials – over time, become the owner of all of the Professional Services training materials and courses
  • Become a subject matter expert in the SaaS scientific software product, and gain a detailed understanding of how it integrates with third-party machines in the lab
  • Create and deliver instructor-led classroom training and online training to end-user customers on a regular schedule. This may be standard or bespoke training
  • Create and deliver instructor-led classroom training and online training to internal technical team members on a regular schedule
  • Must be able to concisely convey technical content to a broad range of user profiles
  • Manage e-learning courses from facilitation to evaluation of exercises and web-based tutorials
  • Work with key vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate, effective training content. Create pre-recorded standard training materials
  • Work with the Professional Services management team to design and roll out a training programme and the prioritised needs
  • Supports the investigation into whether an online LMS is appropriate for Titian and our customers –and if so, supports the selection, implementation and management of that system
  • Fully complies with Titian’s standards and procedures
