Graduate Software Engineer in Test – Python - 2022 with an interest in distributed systems and strong software Engineering skills, combined with a passion for complex software engineering and testing / stressing / and a troubleshooting mindset is required with strong Python development skills and some of (C, C# OOP, JavaScript, networking, TDD, and ideally test automation) is required by fast growing and world leading Video Collaboration company in Reading to work in their world class software product R&D team of around 120 people.

The role of Software Engineer in Test will be working in a high profile SDET team who’s product testing and CI/ CD systems are 100% automated and involves no manual testing. You will be involved in the design and development of Python code to the highly complex test automation infrastructure, incorporating a multitude of third-party hardware such as videoconferencing room systems and network components on systems processing millions of minutes of video calls per hour. These systems are making critical and secure video calls in areas such as telehealth, justice, defence departments, and are used by large corporates around the world etc  

Starting Salary £40k + Bens + Restricted Stock Units – Start Date late September 2022

This is an opportunity for graduates who are expecting a top level degree ideally a 1st in Computer Science, Engineering, Science or Maths from a high calibre university (Russell Group et al), and with outstanding A Levels.

We seek a proactive graduate in 2022 capable of covering the needs of this broad technical role that encompasses the extension of the test environment (written, as is a significant part of the product, in Python), the writing of new tests to verify the quality of the software, root cause analysis of any failed tests, and troubleshooting third-party networking issues (which are not uncommon in this distributed system). An active interest in the methodologies of testing is desirable; we’re looking for someone who can help improve our test architecture, not simply add to the current test.
