​James Shenton is a co-founder and Managing Consultant at Opus Resourcing for the last 19 years. With nearly three decades of hands-on technology recruitment experience, he’s created an extensive talent network to support both clients and candidates in the UK, the USA and Europe.

He focuses on recruiting world-class technology, commercial and executive talent for SaaS, digital, technology and data-driven companies. He’s worked with clients of all sizes and stages of growth from start-ups to scale-ups and enterprise technology businesses, supporting the talent strategy of major brands such as NET-A-PORTER, Paddy Power Betfair, Sky, Apple Europe, and Three Mobile.

For one specific innovative SaaS provider, James provided access to key technology and consulting talent which facilitated a 15% growth of their workforce in less than two years.

In addition, James also has acquired in-depth knowledge of a wide range of sectors including: SaaS software, digital consultancy, eCommerce including luxury eCommerce, Fintech, Employee Benefits Tech, HR Tech, HR digital transformation, Green Energy Tech, and video collaboration software.

He believes in forging long-standing preferred supplier relationships. His success is built on in-depth knowledge of his clients’ cultures, businesses, technology stacks and employee value propositions, combined with a focus on diversity.and candidate experience.

This has enabled him to work hand in glove with clients wanting to scale or upskill their technology teams.

His approach is consultative, creating a bespoke recruitment strategy to meet the needs of each client. By combining extensive search methods, networking, and best-of-breed recruitment technology, he ensures a high level of service is consistently delivered.

James has recruited at all levels of seniority within technology functions, including for FTSE 30 companies and at VP, Director and Head of Level. Also building entire technology teams across different functions / and technology domains..

When not working, James is busy as a father of three, or can be found on his bike or the golf course. He’s also cycled from John O’Groats to Lands’ End to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
